Another Opening, Another Show!

This past weekend we celebrated the Grand Openings of Highgate, Belmont and Monument in West Hills – and what a successful event it was, indeed! In case you missed out on all the fun, take a look back at the day’s festivities.

Plus, we had three amazing mom bloggers on hand to give live demonstrations inside the model homes. Andrea Fellman of Savvy Sassy Moms gave guests a lesson in hosting the perfect party in the new Monument models. Romy Schorr of Romy Raves provided a beauty workshop spotlighting the latest trends in beauty and wellness in the new Highgate models. And Melissa Lanz of The Fresh 20 gave us insightful tips on meal planning in the Monument models.

Radio Disney road CrewAThe Al Fresco Street Festival with live music, coffee bar and chef-inspired tastings was an awesome experience for everyone to take part in! And the Radio Disney® road crew was on hand to help us give away some awesome prizes!

3 New Neighborhoods Coming to Valencia

This celebration is set to include an Al Fresco Street Festival with live music and model home tours, along with awesome giveaways, including: two tickets to the Radio Disney® Music Awards, two cooking classes to Williams-Sonoma, a $100 gift card to Whole Foods and a $100 Apple® gift card. A Weekend of Films, Food, Theater and Running

It’s almost time for the weekend, which means it’s time to get out and have some fun at these local events.

1Head to the College of the Canyons for a fun film night this Friday. The Cinema Room will be playing award-winning and thought-provoking films. And be sure to stick around at the end of each film for a rousing discussion!

2The musical HAIRSPRAY is showing this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Canyon Theatre. Laugh and sing along as this 1960s dancing show works its way across the stage. Plus, this event is perfect for the whole family.

3The Wish Education Foundation is hosting a “Toast and a WISH.” Held at the Old Town Newhall Library, this event is putting local wineries and chefs in the spotlight. Don’t forget to take part in the silent auction, with prizes including dinner for two and a night at the Wilkinson’s Hot Springs Resort. What a classy event to benefit the future leaders of Santa Clarita!

4Get dirty and have fun at the Down and Dirty Mud Run this Sunday at the Castaic Lake State Recreation Area. Participants can do either a 5k or 10k. Let the adventure begin!

5Every second Sunday, the city of Santa Clarita hosts a Food Truck Invasion at the Gateway Promenade. Proceeds from the event support the West Ranch Wildcat football team. Come out to try new foods and have fun with your friends!

ART SLAM

Screen Shot 2013-02-21 at 2.57.49 PMHere is something that is really in your face: The ART SLAM! This is a monthly event that you don’t want to miss out on! With a variety or art, entertainment and activities all centered around a theme, local artists give it there best to respond with their version of art.

Next week’s theme is Light. Come to the inaugural event next Thursday, March 7 and see a live demonstration, gorge yourself in gourmet food trucks and dance along to some light-inspired music.

And if you can’t indulge in this first event, don’t worry because this event happens on the first Thursday of the month between 7pm and 11pm in Old Town Newhall between Lyons and 9th Street. Some of the other themes that the artists have discussed are sound, water and even ice cream.

ART SLAM is coming, so be ready for a big HIT.

Big Opening. Big Hit.

With floating clouds in the sky and 850 people in attendance, this grand opening event included an Italian street fair that was booming with gelato, face painting, live music and cappuccinos.

Everyone loved touring the six stunningly chic decorated homes and the opportunity to win big prizes from some of Valencia’s favorite shops. Another big hit was the notable mom bloggers who gave demonstrations all about home decorating and entertaining and even some health and wellness.

Sweet Sweet Charity

Sweet Charity 2Want your business or organization to be highlighted at the coolest event in Santa Clarita? Come design a cake for the 5th annual Sweet Charity Cake Auction and Competition put on by The Youth Project.  The Youth Project is a nonprofit, school-linked, innovative organization assisting at-risk youths to overcome challenges together—making this event a great time to gather, enjoy cakes and have fun.

The cake should be extravagant and reflect your company, mission statement, logo or product. Don’t be afraid to be colorful, bold and eye-catching. Cakes will be awarded prizes based on originality and creativity. The cake that raises the most money will win bragging rights for next year and a prize. Have you ever seen the show Ace of Cakes?
