Hart Dance Team Advanced to Quarterfinals on America’s Got Talent
When the Hart Dance Team took their 26-person act to America’s Got Talent, all of America got a look at the kind of amazing people Valencia has to offer. This award-winning competitive dance team hails from Santa Clarita, and many of its star-caliber girls call Awesometown their home. Over the last few weeks, they took to the national stage when they advanced through the ranks of the NBC primetime hit.
Coached, trained and directed by choreographer Katherine Leist, this awesome act trains year-round at school and studios in our hometown region. This intensive regimen allows the Hart Dance team to flow from style to style, through ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, tap, hip-hop and acrobatic routines. Throw in the team’s seamless synergy and flair for artistic presentation, and you have a hit performance that flew up the levels of America’s Got Talent.
The Hart Dance Team’s audition in America’s Got Talent Season Nine featured stylized costumes, an on-stage structure and a surprise — their routine started with two dancers, then suddenly became twenty when the whole team poured from the background structure. Unanimous approval from the judges allowed them to shoot straight through Judgment Week and into the quarterfinals.
Sparkling suits and chart-topping hits were what the Hart Dance Team quarterfinals performance was all about. It won them votes, but not enough to rise to the America’s Got Talent semifinals. It’s sure they’ll go further — and soon — because awesome talent like theirs is sure to find some way to shine! We’re proud to call the Hart Dance Team members of the Awesometown family.
